1.9k Swim   90k Bike   21.1k Run Sylvan Lake... A Town for all Seasons Hello again, The 2008 Sylvan Lake Triathlon is a month away and preparations are in full swing. Nice weather has been ordered in and we are working with the town and the province to ensure our course is ready and smokin' fast for race day. We do have a couple of changes to announce. New for this year will be a "Most Improved Athlete" award for the most improved overall time for both male and female categories. This prize will be sponsored by Toyota Canada as part of their "Never Quit" event. Each winner will receive some super cool Toyota SWAG (No mention yet if it includes a vehicle) and $500 bucks! How cool is that? Getting paid to be faster! Because this prize will be available to finishers from all years (not just 2007), if you think you qualify, please contact our race timer and let them know you would like to be considered. After that, we will tally up all entrants and come up with a "Never Quit" Most Improved Athlete. Also new is that, for the first time ever, we will have race package pick-up will be available in Edmonton as well as Calgary and Sylvan Lake. Race packages should be available on Wednesday July 23rd and Thursday July 24th at Way Past Fast in Edmonton (10310 61 Avenue, 780-448-0570) and Tri It in Calgary (2640 Parkdale Boulevard NW, 403.270.7776). In addition, Bow Cycle (6501 Bowness Road. N.W.) will be providing an optional bike check in Calgary (Monday and Tuesday) as well as at Tri It (Wednesday and Thursday). Friday race package pickup will be available in Sylvan Lake behind the Chateau Suites again from 12 noon until 5:00pm. It will then move to the Sylvan Lake Community Center for 5:30 - 7:00 (more info to come in your race packages). Good luck training everyone and see you at the beach. Thanks Roger and Scott
